At first, I tried to install the driver provided by Intel. While I am reading through the readme file, it seems that driver only works for SUSE linux 9.x and windows (in fact, SUSE linux 10.1 is probably the only one among linux ditributions, which is able to cope with wider screen monitors).
Then, I found this article:

Its solution for FC5 is simple， downloaded the 915resolution package and manually changed one entry to 1280*768. and Now, I got the wider screen resolution. It is much better looking than before :).
However, there are still some other problems:
- after i updated FC5, I got two entries for FC5 in GRUB; I guess one of them refers to the older build of fc5? Is it possible to delete the older one?
- 还有就是乱屏的问题，仍然存在，就是启动时候， 从text mode 转换到 GUI mode 的那一秒钟。 这个问题是不是fc5 固有的？有没有解决办法呢？如果没有，会不会对电脑的monitor有损害（对新电脑还是要爱惜一点的）？
