Please help me to figure out what's wrong when I was trying to setup SCIM chinese input in Ubuntu.

I got that correctly once in VMWare, but really forgot what I was doing in detail. I followed several direction from web but none of them work for me.

The SCIM was installed when I triggered input method setup. The smart PinYin and whole bunch of input methods were install at that time. My ./scim/global is set like:
/SupportedUnicodeLocales=en_US.UTF-8,en_GB.UTF-8
/DefaultKeyboardlayout=US_Default

My /etc/scim/global says:
/SupportedUnicodeLocales=en_GB.UTF-8,en_US.UTF-8
/DefaultConfigModule=simple
....

The SCIM icon shows running, but I can't use Ctrl+SPACE to switch it. When I tried Input-Method-Setup for Smart-PinYin hotkey, the actual result almost always affect to English/European set, and nothing could be done on Smart-Pinyin item. _(6)
