I just configured voipdiscount + SPA1001 to make free calls in the 2nd line of SPA1001
It take me a while to digest a few posts regarding CID setups. Here are a few sample posts regarding set up of the CID in voipdiscount

When making calls the CID is unknown to the receivers.
To correctly display the CID, open up the VoipDiscount.exe application in your PC, click profile. At the lower left corner, enter a valid phone number in the international format. For example, +14221112222 for US number (422)111-2222, which you want to use as your CID.
Then allow the software to make a call to that number. Once your phone receive the call, you will be asked to enter the code displayed in the web into your phone.
After a successful test the ownership of the phone, then you can click the radio button to have that number as your CID.
Now you need to configure the ATA so that the CID can be correctly displayed in receiver's phone.
Goto your SPA1001's admin page (example http://192.168.1.4/admin/advanced)
under "Subscriber Information"
User ID: 14221112222 (this will be your CID)
Use Auth ID: yes
Auth ID:
Password:
Then "submit all changes"
If the configuration was taken by the ATA successfully, your will have your CID.
