who is to blame? my cordless phone was burnt by the replacement longterminvestor2011-01-21 19:36:30

I have a vtech cordless phone, the battery is dying. The original battery is Nicd, 3.6v 700mah.

I bought from ebay a replacement battery: NIMH, 3.6v, 1400mah, as soon as I put into this new battery, I smell the odor of burning, I later tested the battery, here is the result:

 

Original battery: 3.57v, 9.5ma (not clear of the unit, it is the reading from battery testing part of my digital multimeter)

replacement battery: 3.8v, 10.5ma

 

Please, experienced high hands here, what is wrong? Is that NIMH battery and NiCd battery not interchangeable? or just the slight difference on DC voltage? or what else? Thank you!

也可能充电器及电话电池都连在一起，NINH没有起到降压的作用，

楼主说，刚把电池放入，电话马上就烧坏了。

即使电池没有起到降压的作用，也不应该烧坏电话。如果电池接触不好，

回家把电池包调换一下再退货，呵呵 当然要花油钱
