I completely disagree with absolutely EVERYTHING this article has said. It wasn't Steve who innovated in any way, shape or form.
First off- the initial Apple innovations, like the Apple I and Apple II?
That was Steve Wozniak's design. Steve was the salesman, and another individual provided the first funding for manufacture.
Pre-Macintosh? Steve's greatest "contribution" to Apple was to force the designers of the Apple III to omit ventilation holes, leaving a computer that would get so hot that the motherboard chips would pop out.
Steve barely contributed to the Macintosh project at all- that would be the combined genius of Bill Atkinson, Steve Wozniak's revolutionary multi-speed floppy drive, as well as the contributions of countless others.
The outer shell design of the Mac was designed by Jerry Manock and Terry Oyama.
Steve Jobs main contribution to the Macintosh project? Yelling at people and insisting that the design would not have a fan, resulting in overheating and component failure as a result.
Steve was kicked out of Apple because he was a self-serving egomaniac who abused his employees, not because of some sort of vendetta.
And you want to honor this man?
If you want to talk about Modern Apple- you can thank Jonathan Ives for that. Steve Jobs? You can thank him for the disappearance of useful and purposeful buttons on Apple's stuff, resulting in severe loss of functionality.
I welcome an Apple without Job's egomania, without a man who parks in handicapped spots simply because he wants to demonstrate that he can afford the ticket. He is not a visionary- he is not a designer. He is a salesman, selling the ideas of better and brighter men while lapping up the accolades for it.
