听说苹果要出iphone5了，突然觉得了无意思。曾经用过两台Android：索爱X10和LG-G2X，不觉得好用，至今闲置在抽屉。要不试试看微软机器？毕竟当初毙掉安猪的就是Office和Outlook功能。
From example of TP (Touchpad not Thinkpad), cheap is the king! To play on WP7 phones, price is the most important. The end product is a $60 glass shattered Samsung Focus. Though broken on surface, all the touch screen function works perfectly! 欧耶！
Unlocking is easy, another 8 bucks and 10 seconds. The downside is T-mobile knows this phone and can't allow dumb-phone data plan to be used, don't bother try it. So I will settle with WiFi.
The next task is Mango, the built 7.10.77xyz. Originally the phone came with 7.10.700x a far lower version. Once using Zune to link the phone it is updated to 7.10.7092. In order to move further one could wait for the roll out or go directly as described here:

Now the problem is I can't perform the trick. It appears that Zune must rely the internet connection through WiFi on the phone to check update as the PC ehternet is disconnected. However the Zune will complain it can't establish a link through the phone. OK, that is something to dig.
Microsoft KB shows one solution here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2468384 But the only the last solution might be true. The problem was I can't start because of an "Error 5: access denied" even though it was started as Administrator.
Multiple sites suggest different things, such as setting a "DPS" service. None work. One post pointed to a solution to another issue by "increasing the max size of allowable log file". It is weird but I gave it a try: by modifying the Log storing location from "local service" to "local computer" I could start the Zune service so it can link though WP7 to internet.
Now it is easy: update through 7392 then 7432 then 77xx the Mango.
Well, WP7 is still a touchscreen dumb phone far less than a smartphone such as iPhone. Maybe that is it virtue that only allow one to work, not fun just as Bob the CEO said "it allows people to get in and get back to life". Of course he was accused to have forgotten that a smartphone is the life!
For the display AMOLED, its far better than Iphone3 even iPhone 4 indoor. Outdoor effect from iPhone was appealing, but poor on AMOLED: too light without the reflection layer in Apple LCD.
