Our company uses web server in a centralized way: every department uses a company's web server and departments use but do not own web server.

Our department have Crystal Enterprise for web reports application. We are planning to own a department web server, in order to gain more control.

Please refer any information can help me prepare a proposal for the localized web server.

We are using Sun One (iPlanet).

Thanks.

The server setup itself is easy. Do you mean that your dept just want to move the old server structure to your dept new server box?

If that is the case, it should be very easy, leave an redirect index file at old server, pointing to your new server's ip. Set up a sun box or window box in one of your dept offices and use iPlanet at your will. If using a 3-tier structure, then 3 boxes, depending on your budget. You need to specify more of the scenario for further suggestion.
