Elon's father Errol said:
“Elon has been generous enough to admit that he inherited his scientific genius from me.”
‘Inherited genius’
Errol claimed that his son “pestered” him so he could go to a computing event when he was aged 11.
Researchers were unveiling an IBM Personal Computer.
Elon was part of a group of enthusiastic attendees that had stayed behind after the conference had finished to quiz developers.
One professor reportedly told Errol: “This boy needs to get one of these computers.”
In 2015, Errol told Forbes: “’You can ask Elon to do a lot of things on his computer but don’t ask him to catch a bus.”
He claimed his son was an “introvert thinker”.
Errol said: “So where a lot of people would go to a great party and have a great time and drink and talk about all sorts of things like rugby or sport, you would find Elon had found the person’s library and was going through their books,”
