My job offer is dependent on my H1B transfer from non-profit to for-profit and I missed the filing of H1B petiton by one day. Since I cannot persuade my new employer's immigration attorney to file the transfer for me (he insist I cannot file until April 1st and cannot work until Oct.1st, which is a big controversy even within immigration attorneys, USCIS), my job offer is essential gone. This job was got from a recruiter and recruiter just told me that hiring manager is looking for other candidate now because he wants to fill the position rather quickly. However he never said that I will be out of the picture, it is more like hiring manager does not want to wrestle with his own company attorney, which is very understandable. The recruiter told me that don't harass hiring manager any more in terms of immigration issue, since he does not have interest to find out who is wrong who is right. Just keep focused to find new opportunity or wait until my visa issue is resolved to contact hiring manager again because hiring manager really likes me a lot, so did rest of the group who interviewed me. Now I kind of take his advice and ready to move on, but I still wonder if I have a remote chance to persuade the hiring manager to keep me in consideration. If I do, how? I don't want to have any negative impression to him that I am bad mouthing his own lawyer.
But anyway it looks like the offer is gone. What a pity!
