BACKGROUND:
For now, my title is "High Performance Computing User Support Specialist III" working in a national lab, and My company is preparing to file EB-2 PERM for me. I checked the SOC code page, and think my code might be "15-1040 Computer Support Specialists"; the minor group would be "15-1000 Computer Specialists".
Questions:
Since I really don't like this job very much and my hubby is working in another state now, I'd like to change to another job after my I-140 getting approved and I-485 pending for more than 180 days. My desired occupation would be software engineer, whose code would be "15-1030 Computer Software Engineers"; the minor group is also "15-1000 Computer Specialists". Do you think the "15-1040 Computer Support Specialists" and "15-1030 Computer Software Engineers" belong to the same code number( the detailed code number is different, but the minor group number is the same) and I've no risk of changing job?
i asked this because I need to decide if I'll go for PERM since I really don't like this job much, but I need greencard and this job is more stable than being a software engineer in company.
