My I-20 form expired on the September 25, 2006. I forgot to renew it on time. So I need to reinstate my F-1. The big problem is that my hu*****and filed I-485 for us last November, although it was denied because an immigrant visa is not immediatelly available at the time our application filed ( my hu*****and filed I-140 around Nov. 17, 2005 and it has already been aproved).
The school isso advisor said it is almost impossible to reinstate F-1, and also because I am out of status now, I have to change my status to H-4 (my hu*****and is H-1B) outside of United States.
My question is:
1. If it is possible to reinstate F-1?
2. If not, can I transfer to H-4 inside of the United states, or I have to apply H-4 outside of United States?
If someone has the similar experience and seen this kind of case before, please give me some suggestions. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
