www.Immigrationvoice.org is committed to getting into the law the following provision: the I-485 filing without visa number availability. If successful, this provision, as a part of the supplemental resolution bill, will be signed into law by President Bush on or prior to February 15th, 2007.
To put this in simple words, if this effort becomes successful, whoever stuck in the GC process will be able to file I-485 WITHOUT WAITING FOR VISA NUMBERS BECOME CURRENT.
So you will ask "what's in this for me?" Two things. If this becomes law, you will be able to return to the U.S. without applying for visa. Secondly, even more important, you can change your job once I-485 outstanding for more than 180 days.
