Here are some interesting conversations over the phone with IO in TSC in the last few months.
I. About Name Check:

ME: "How is my Name check status?"
IO1: "It is been cleared since xxxxx."
ME: "Thank GOD!" (Very happy and excited)

ME: "How is my Name check status?" (Just want to double check)
IO2: "It is still pending."
ME: "What the hell?" (Very upset)

ME: "I was told the different results by different IOs about my NC. can you double check with that, please?" (Just want to trible check)
IO3: "OK, i know some officer don't know how to READ the status of NC. let me find for you. yes yours is cleared. the last IO gave you the original status of the NC, the current status is cleard and the date is xxxx. "
ME: "WOW, that is great." (What a nice lady!)

ME: "Why my case still pending."
IO4: "Well, no visa available."
ME: "Base on the VB, mine is supposed to have the visa number"
IO4: "mmm, your case has not been processed."
ME: "NO, my case is out of processing already."
IO4: "Well, your NC is still pening."
ME: "Not true, I was told my FBI name check is cleard on XXXX"
IO4: "we have our own name check!" and hang up on me!
ME: (OH.........MY.........GOD)

2. About Visa Number
ME: "I was told me Visa number available last month for me, let me call you back after Oct 1"
IO5: "I apologize for the wrong info last IO told you. actually the applicant will get notified befeor we do once visa number is available. and you will get a letter"
ME: "cool" (new policy?)
anyway, don't take IOs infor very serious. they are very unprofessional, not responsiable. i don't bother to call them anymore except asking for the service request from time to time.
only WOM and formal notice is serious.
so just wait or WOM. my folks.
