After responding I-485RFE, how soon can I get green card? happyxie2008-01-09 02:04:55

My PD is 12/2004 and I got I-485RFE on 11/29/2007, when my PD was current. I will respond the RFE next week. I am wondering whether my I-485 case has to be pending until my until my PD becomes current? Thank you for your answer or comments in advance.
