My current H1B visa will expire the end of May, 2008.My employer is helping me extending my visa.

A question just want to make sure:

On Form I-129, Page 2, Part 4:Processing Information
1. If the person named in Part 3 is outside the United States or a requested extension of stay or change of status cannot be granted, give the U.S. consulate or inspection facility you want notified if this petition is approved.
Type of Office (Check one):Consulate, Pre-flight inspection, Port of Entry

I noticed that my HR checked Consulate, although she did not input office address and country.

I looked your blog and said 一般在第一空填“N/A”之后余者不填。

My concern is if they check consulate, when my H1B extension is granted in the future, I might get a I-797B without a valid I-94 attached, instead of I-797A. If this happen, I will have to go back China to get my I-94 stamped to re-enter USA. The worst thing is my current I-94 will expire on May 31, 2008. If this I-797B is granted after my I-94 expires, I will be out of status here. This is really scary to me.

Please tell me if my understanding is correct or not.
Thank you very much
