H1B approval revoked due to check bounce ... out of status? k_pangpang2008-08-20 18:05:28

Hello all,

H1B (transfer) was approved 2 weeks ago. Then the check (from the company)
bounced. There is a notice to the company about how to pay the application fee via
phone, but somehow the company didn't get the notice in time to make the
payment. Yesterday got email notice saying that H1B approval is revoked. Does this
mean I am out of status already? From yesterday or from the date of H1B approval?

I can apply for H4 through LD. Plan to submit the application today or tomorrow.
But would I still be considered as out of status for the in-between period? Do I
need to leave US to get the H4 stamped when it is approved?
