My OPT ended in August and I lost my job. So i contacted my school to get back to F1 status since i haven't finished my degree yet. But my school has been really slow and I am still trying to get a new I-20 for reinstatement.
i was really worried because my 60 day grace period is ending soon. But i was talking to my school councilor today and she said something like "since i haven't finished, there is no ending of grace period."
I just realized she said that and I need to ask them tomorrow to see what they mean. Does any of you know what this is? If you haven't finished your degree after your OPT, what case is this? What status am I now? My former employer did got H1b approval for me to become effective on Oct. 1. But I guess they probably cancelled it or will to do soon.
