As suggested by the CIA World Factbook, USA 2016 GDP per capita ($55800) is 6.99 times higher than China ($7984) in terms of exchange rate (or nominal US dollar value). This number may not reflect the actual difference of the economic state of these two nations. Also, based on the data from the CIA World Factbook, the US annual electricity production per capita (12664 kwh) is 2.83 times higher than China counterpart (4472 kwh). This figure must be right because this is real number. Thus, let's use 2.83 as a factor to divide the value of US 2016 GPD per capita, then a figure is obtained as $19703. Assuming the same unit power produces the same GDP in both the US and China, then China 2016 GPD per capita must be $19703, rather than $7984.
This is simple calculation suggests that China 2016 GDP per capita was much underestimated, and also explains why common Chinese people in China appear to have much better living standard or condition than that as suggested by the official GDP per capita.
