经过2017年一整年的验收过程后，五角大楼递交给国防部长马蒂斯的报告这样评价福特
号航母：----“极差、乃至于不可预知的可靠性” 。【poor or unknown reliability】
被评价为“几乎不可信任”的关键系统包括：电磁弹射、电磁拦阻、武器升降机、雷达
。【"poor or unknown reliability" among many of the Ford's essential systems
, including newly designed catapults, arresting gear, weapons elevators, and
radar.】
报告说，Fa-18F战机在弹射过程中，其承力框架经受了“过度的冲击力”【"excessive
airframe stress" on launches】。
这说明电磁弹射系统，并没有像设计中那样能调整到 “最佳弹射力”。
最关键的是，电磁弹射 与 电磁拦阻系统，在电力上无法实现热隔离。（大概是说两者
电力系统没办法互相独立工作，巨大的杯具）。这造成维修保养的困难。

报告评价航母状态为：-----能连续保持4天作战状态的可能性为 9% 。
原本规定在2017年完成的船体耐冲击试验（用炸药在水下爆炸、模拟冲击），被推迟到
