Israel has deployed a delegation to participate in Russia’s International Army Games—dubbed the “Military Olympics”—with soldiers from across the globe competing in events such as the Tank Biathlon, Seaborne Assault and Falcon Hunting. Adding to the drama, the Israeli team will face off against Iranians in the Field Medicine Rally, although the squad is not slated to go head-to-head against the Syrian delegation in any trials. While Israel is participating in the Games for the fourth straight year, it sends only a small team to Russia; this, due to the IDF’s apparent desire to keep its secrets secret, despite the prevailing spirit of fair play.
