我与大家分享了女儿的各科作业,在此再分享一下她的语文作业。这是她上初中的第一篇作文:时间胶囊—写给未来的自己。 August

Dear older and hopefully wiser self,
As a sixth grader starting middle school, I am still a bit nervous about middle school. The teachers seem nice, but it is still possible that in the middle of the year they will turn out to be positively nasty. Also, what if they give huge, long-term assignments, such as a book report, at the same time? I might have to spend more than the allotted time to do them well. What if the notorious bully problem deserves its bad reputation?
I’m excited about finally being able to come straight home from school, which I couldn't do before because of Chinese school. (If I had Chinese School, I would have no time for homework.)I’m also eager to be in a school where I can have more options. In Regnart, there was one choice for hot lunch, one place to sit per grade, and no electives. Now, though, I can sit anywhere (reasonable) that I want, and have an elective.
Since I should record what my favorite things are, I’ll type them down here. My favorite food is Mac and Cheese, especially from the restaurant Sweet Tomatoes, mostly because of its cheesiness. I don’t exactly know what my favorite book is, a book I like is called The Otherwordlies. Another is called The Familiars. I don’t watch TV very much, so I don’t have a favorite TV show, but I did enjoy watching gymnastics, men’s diving, and the Olympics opening ceremony. (The closing ceremony was boring.) Also, my favorite color is either turquoise or lime green, though in a year, I probably will have decided.
Your younger version,
Hermione Ma, age eleven
