以“传递圣火，凝聚世界”为宗旨，有史以来将第一次走遍五大洲的雅典奥运会火炬接力现在拥有了自己的主题曲---《传递圣火pass the flame》。
《传递圣火》由顶级音乐制作人特雷弗·霍恩（Trevor Horn）与洛尔克莱梅（Lol Crème）合作完成。霍恩曾与许多世界最著名的歌手和乐队合作， 例如保尔·麦卡特尼、布赖恩·费瑞、宠物店男孩演唱组、噪音艺术乐队等。希腊作曲家莉娜·尼古拉科普卢（Lina Nicolacopoulou）创作了希腊文歌词。CD中的英文与希腊文版均由希腊著名歌手伊安尼斯·科特西拉斯（Yiannis Kotsiras）担任主唱。此外，来自世界各国的许多知名歌手都参加了CD录制，他们的声音展示了奥运火炬接力的全球性意义，体现了“传递圣火，凝聚世界”的宗旨。
