It is getting a little frustrating that none of the youngsters have broken through in the slams but at least there are signs Tsitsipas is getting close to the required level. His performances against Federer and Wawrinka have put his name on the map as a serious contender. Hopefully Auger-Aliassime continues to develop as he clearly possesses potential to become an all-round incredible player and superstar of the sport. Currently those two are the only ones I can see becoming multiple-slam winners. The biggest disappointments this year have been Zverev and Shapovalov. Neither of them are really improving. Here are some stats to make the current situation look even worse: 24 players from the age of 17-22 have won slams yet none of the active players under 30 have won any. Only one has even reached slam finals (Thiem at the FO). Shocking to say the least. The real problem is that Djokovic and Nadal haven't dropped their level, they still move really well and at 32-33 they have a far greater skill set and a more developed game than the young players.
