台积电董事长刘德音接受美国电视台专访,他表示,台湾半导体被称为“矽盾”,意味着世界都需求台湾高科技支持,因此没有人希望台湾发生战争,他也希望不会发生。
刘德音日前在台积电新竹总部接受哥伦比亚广播公司CBS节目《60分钟》(60 Minutes)专访,专访内容今天播出。
对于台湾半导体产业被称为“矽盾”,刘德音表示,这意味着世界都需求台湾高科技产业的支持,因此,不会让战争在台湾发生,因为会违背了每个国家的利益。没有人希望台湾发生战争,他也希望不会发生。
对于主持人问及美国人是否该担心晶片多在亚洲生产,刘德音表示,他能理解这样的疑虑,但晶片是否在亚洲制造不是症结所在,因为无论晶片在何处生产,都会因疫情产生短缺。
针对英特尔(Intel)执行长季辛格(Pat Gelsinger)谈到,因为世界上有很多晶片在亚洲制造,有必要重新平衡供应链问题。刘德音说,美国应投资研发,培养更多的博士、硕士及学士进入半导体制造,而不是试图改变供应链。
刘德音表示,改变供应链成本高昂,并没有生产力。若要保留自己的技术,放弃全球合作,恐将减缓创新的速度。
季辛格受访时坦言英特尔在制造领域落后台积电,对于英特尔为何会居于落后,刘德音说,“我们也感到惊讶”。
