原版电影的结尾，艾德华诺顿 (Edward Norton) 所扮演的男主角，杀死想象中的另一个自我、由布莱德彼特扮演的无政府主义者角色“泰勒”，然后看着多栋建筑物爆炸，代表该角色摧毁现代文明的计划已经在进行中。
中国的新版本却截然不同。根据旁白描述，在男主角一样对“泰勒”动手，随后建筑物爆炸场景却被黑底白字所取代，上面写到警方迅速查清整个计划，逮捕所有罪犯，并且“阻止了炸弹的爆炸”。此外，“泰勒”被送往精神病院接受心理治疗，后来出院。这种国家大获全胜的新结局，有中国网友在微博上说：“这太离谱了，腾讯视频上的 《搏击俱乐部》告诉我们，他们不仅删除了场景，还增加了情节。”
