questions on Activate Windows lhan2006-09-11 04:30:34

My Dell PC was bought in 2001 with Windows ME, an aweful OS.

Now I tried to use a program which is only available in Windows 2000 or XP.

So I borrowed my friend's Dell PC's XP Home edition. After installing, it asked for "Activate Windows".

I chose the option to activate it later. Seems anyhow I can use for 30 days before activating it.

My question is
1)Is that right I would definitely fail in activating windows since my friend already activated the XP from his PC?
2)Is that right the XP installation CD from Dell PC can only be activated from 1 single PC?
