I installed COMCAST internet services with wireless modem。 I have one desktop and one laptop. The desktop, with a wireless adapter, can be online wirelessly. The laptop, however, with the build-in adapter, cannot detect the wireless modem so that it cannot be online wirelessly.
1. If I plug in the adapter from the desktop on the laptop, it still cannot detect/find any wireless modem.
2. if I plug in the internet cable directly from the modem, the laptop can access internet.
Therefore, I am wondering it is the laptop itself's issue, very likely something related to the modem detection is blocked.
Anybody here has experiences on this issue? I checked the internet provider, they suggested I check with the Laptop (DELL) company. I did not do that yet. But it does not make sense that the working adapter cannot work in the laptop.
