I can't tell you how we got a hold of a first gen iPhone loaded with 3G software; just that if I do, homicidal ninjas will come to my house and kill my family. But never the less we do have one and were able to take a look inside and find a few minute yet pretty cool changes. Here's a tour of the inside:
First off, we noticed the camera gave us this message before we were ready to snap a picture. Obviously, the fact that the camera wants to know your position is tied into the addition on GPS on the handset.
Also new in the settings section is the ability to switch location based services on and off.
The contacts sections now features a search function. No more scrolling through endless menus. You can also tag contacts with keywords to make pulling them up easier.
Like here were we tagged Chris Anderson with "Wired" to pull up his name. Amy Winehouse popped up when we typed in "trainwreck."
For all you "always on" junkies, check out the icon to activate push email. Apparently you can have your corporate email refreshed every 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Or just customize the refresh rate by hand.
