I bought a pc about 2 years ago from a chinese dealer store. Obviously, this pc was installed from piece to piece. They offered me the very basic stuffs that I needed. The program was Window 2002. They downloaded njstar, word excel, realplayer,............very simple things. It was with 128 RAM, intel thing. A year later, the pc started to shut off automatically. I took it back and they told me that they needed to reinstall the program. Since one of the person used to be my ex-coworker, they charged nothing for this reinstallation. But, the same prob. came up again after few months. This time, they charged me for 30 dallars. I asked whether I could have the whole thing reinstalled. They said if this happens, I'd pay them with a complete new pc price $750. The price was just for the one I bought. I refused it. I thought that I could buy a totally new pc from Dell, IBM or any other comupter companys. So, I didn't ask for a new pc from them. It turned out that one of my friend helped me out with installing a new program: windowXP. But, the old program is still in the pc. In other words, I got 2 programs in the pc when I turn on the computer. So, I was told to click on WindowXP and it brought me to there. It looks good and everything works fine until now. There is a msg. came up like you need to activate your program in order to sth. My question here is, can I delete the old program completely from the pc and only leave this one? If I could, how can I do it without missing any old files from Window 2002? Thank you very much
