I found that the connection is OK, but, for instance, send 15 packets, received 0 packets, this is why I can not access internet. why all the sent packets lost? I am using AOL DSL cable connection. I plug one end of my ethernet cable to my laptop, the other end goes to the gateway cable modem. my laptop has no AOL package installed.
and how to do MAC verification? my laptop has win2K installed, under command prompt, if I type arp -a, I do have available IP address for gateway, and I type ping , I do see the message such as 4 packets sent, 4 packets received, lost 0 percent. but why the internet page can't be displayed?
