Hi Gurus,
I installed the so-called smallear chinese satellite TV system 5-6 years before when the signal was still analog. Now I am trying to bring it back to work. I know the docoder box is useless any more so I bought a Twinhan 102G pci card for my computer in the hope that I am not going to need to buy any other hardware in the future if new tech is developed into satellite TV system because I am assuming that software might be able to handle these changes.
My dish is an old style 30 inches dish whose brand name is "Amstar" which I can't find in the google. The LNB's brand name is Eagle. I am trying to still use these old stuffes.
I pointed my dish to Telstar5 and hooked all cables up with my computer. What I can see from the software is that signal strength can be up to 60, but the quality is 0. And nothing can be scanned out from the input. The LNB setting I choose is universal type with some unchangeable frequency.
My plan is to make this free chinese tv work first and then hopefully dig a little bit more on others. It looks like this first step is not that easy.
I believe that the dish should be reusable. I wonder if the LNB is still good to use for digital signal or not.
Please give me some advice. Thanks.
