Help:apply H-Visa or not? student12005-07-06 04:48:08

My Opt is expiring. We should apply for a H1B visa. Since our I140 already approved recently(my wife appling GC). I am wondering if the EAD card has the same function of H1B visa. if I need not to apply H visa, what is my visa status? Please give some suggestion, if possible give me a link to see the information.
