could anyone give some advice on how to show high english proficiency for canadian immigration? what kind of evidence is the most convincing? I got a PhD in the US and claimed high english proficiency (16 points) in my PR application. I wrote a 3-page long letter on my english experience and also provided a list of my english publications, oral presentations and teaching evaluations in the US, plus two supporting letters from my advisors. I thought I have made a strong case, but, the immigration officer told me these are no good and asked me to take the test, otherwise they will assign me a score they think is appropriate for my english capability.
Is my letter too short? if my evidences are useless, then what are the good evidences? I cannot think of anything else to show. please share your thoughts on this problem, especially if you have successfully convinced the immigration officer of your high language proficiency. many many thanks for your kind help.
