A company submitted an H-1b petition on my behalf on Aug 11 (one day later than the cut off date) and got an approval notice today. I do not have an advanced degree from an american institution and am subject to H-1b cap. I thought that USCIS processed my case wrongly as H-1b transfer (I currently have a university H-1b, which is exempt from the cap). Am I right? Is there anyone out there having had the same experience or heard any news recently about additional regular H-1b available for 2006?
