Is it safe for H1B holder to travel back to China ?

I haven't gone back to China after after I came to US.
From recent news, Green card is far far away from us.


Is it safe to travel to China?
What is the safest way to travel back to China?
Apply visa in Beijing, Canada Mexico ? or any other idea?
