Dear Friends:
I currently have an I-485 pending (EB-1B) and want to change job, but need to clear several questions before deciding the next step.
I am a biochemistry/molecular biologist and my I-140 was sponsored by my current employer, a research institute, on Outstanding Researcher. After the approval of I-140, I filed for I-485 myself at the end of January, and the fingerprint was taken in middle of April.
Question 1: Because it has been more than 180 days, is it OK for me to change to a different job with similar profession?
Question 2: Talking about similar profession, would it be considered OK, in my case, to change into a company lab, still doing biomedical research? How about a different college or institute changing from, say, signal transduction to neuroscience?
Question 3: If my new job is still in the same Immigration Service Center, do I need to do anything? Any effects or delay on the case?
I would be most grateful for your information in response to my questions.
