I applied my Canadian greencard in 2001, while my US greencard application was pending. I got my US greencard in 2002. However my canadian greencard application has been pending for 4 years. I received a notice from Canadian immigration office a couple of months ago. They asked me to re-sumbit my physical exams because the last one we submitted "has expired". I have never heard of this. So I wrote a letter to tell them that their request is not fair and it is because of their mishandling that my case has been pending for so many years. I require them to remedy their mistake by either admitting my previous medicals or covering the expense of the medical examinations they ask me to take. I also said if they decide to close my case I hope they have the decency to reimburse my application fee as they represent a payment for the service they never provide and they were meant to establish a contract which they have breached. After I wrote this letter to them, they did not ask for the medicals anymore. But they asked me to submit my renewal information, which I did. Then I recieved a call from them and they told me that I have to give up my US greencard if I want Canadian greencard. Is it true that I can not hold both?
Thanks.
