I just got my NIW 140 approval email from VSC this afternoon.
1st I140 application received on 09/19/05, 2nd I140/I485 received on 09/29/2005
FP 11/01/05
Both I140 were approved on 1/12/06.
One update for 1st I140 on 12-27-2005, one day after I prayed at St.Patrick in NYC.
DIY with information I got here and from my friends..
BACKGROUND:
Ph.D. in Chemistry from a top US school. Currently a Post-doc in the same school but a different department. My research is very basic and can be connected to cancer field (the gene I focus on is always mutated in cancer cells, and I believe there are hundreds of these kinds genes).
1 first author paper which is from a totally different project.
1 second author paper, which is also from a totally different project.
1 manu about my current project used for NIW.
several abstracts from 4 meetings and a bunch department retreats.
No conference talk.
Members of AAAS, ASBMB, ASHG.
6 supporting letters. 4 from my boss and three other professors in our school, 1 from my advisor's brother at a different school, 1 from a professor in Germany. I wrote all the supporting letters, and they looked the same (OK, maybe not, I have two different sample letters).
I was worried about getting ITD or at least REF, and even this morning I was thinking about who I should bug for help. Just feel better now. I guess the prayer and 10 candles worked in my favor.
Just want to share the news. Really thank people for sharing info here.
