F1 to H1B, before 911 went back China two times, now third year H1B. at recent submitted I-140. got Canada Immigration visa, made appointment for applying H1B at Vancouver on March right after landing. questions:

Is there any problem to apply H1B with a submitted immigration application?

is there any danger to be checked? I have not gone back since 911. I heard there are still many students be checked in China.
