I've filed I-485 by myself and it is still pending. My problem is: When preparing my 2004 income tax return I filed it as a resident of Canada and misreported my stay in Canada over 283 days in 2004 ( In fact I just have the GC of Canada but didn't stay there for even one day). In the 485 document I didn't report my GC of Canada, but attached the 2004 tax return with it.
Will this confuse the visa officer and get the 485 rejected? Now I know my tax return is not correct, and I'll amend it, do I need to explain it and resubmit the tax return to INS?
