I hold the passport of an european country. I would go to usa to do postdoc and hopefully to get GC finally. But a top university which I dream to go can only give me J1 visa. Is it wise for me to accept the J1 firstly and then change to H1B or other permanant visa? Is it easy to do this change? If this J1 also need the waivers? You answers are highly appreciated. Thx.
