What is the difference between Obtain of EAD and Use of EAD? dmyb2006-03-16 05:48:15

I got the impression from this and some other forums that obtain EAD will not invalid H1b status, but only use of EAD will. But what is the difference of obtain and use?

In the case of OPT and H1b, approval of H1b automatically invaid OPT. This is not so in case of EAD?
