Tax report and I140, help! thanks! Aniu2006-03-31 22:19:38

I came USA in Dec, 2002, and filed the I140(no I-485) Dec, 2005. I work at a college and my wage was not tax withheld last year(2005). My question is, can I just file Form 1040NR and 8843. Somebody told me I can not file 1040NR if I filed I140, and I have to file Form1040 instead of 1040NR. is that true?
