Hello Everyone,
I have a question about filing the federal tex return.
My LD and I have been in us for more than 5 years so we file the federal tax return as residents.Yet we are still students and we need to file the form 8833 for the $5000 non-taxable deduction based on the US-China Treaty. Can someone, having experience with Form 8833 for federal tax return, provide some guidelines for Blank 2 & 4 in Form 8833? Thank you.
i.e., what IRS code provision(s) are overruled/modified by the tax
treaty Article 20(c)?
Form 8833 has to be filed for resident aliens who are desired to use
tax treaties to reduce their income taxes.
Thanks a lot.
