Visa question: F1 transfer from H4 summy2006-05-13 02:58:19

I get critical question:

I am H4 in US now and just got offer and I-20 from one University that is in another city. Do I have to go to American Ambassy in another country to get a F1 visa stamp to keep legal status? Or, the university can transfer my status to F1?
