Changing company while waiting for the H-1B bebe1232006-05-15 20:18:14

My current company has just filed my H-1B application. The application receipt was received but the visa will not come after October(used regular process). If i switch company now, do i need to drop the application and reapply it through the new company? Will i get into trouble? Many thanks.
