I summited my I-140 (EB1, outstanding researcher) and I-140(EB2, NIW) and I-485 in Jan., 2005. NIW was approved in March, 2005. My I-485 was consolidated with NIW since then. In June, 2005, my EB1 (outstanding researcher) was approved also. Now my company has big financial problem. Maybe my department will get cut in the end of June. My GC lawyer asked me, if I want to transfer my I-485 to EB1?
My questions are: 1) When is the starting date to calculate the 180-day requirement with the employer if I transfer my I-485 to EB1? 2) If I lose my job, how long can I legally stay in the States to find a new job?
