Urgent: Do we have enough time to renew H1-B to 7th year Huma2006-06-14 19:23:04

My hu*****and's company finally agrees to apply GC for him, but his H1-B will expire next Sept. Do we have enough time? We used to think to go back China next year, but now we want to stay here because of our new baby.
If his Perm is approved before H1-B expire, can he submit the application for 7th year extension?
