Dear Professionals: I know this is an age old question but after I researched the message history of this BBS I still didn't get my answer. My OPT expires at the end of July, and I've got the H1 approval which will take effect from October First. So after the 60 days grace period of OPT, there will still be an about one week gap. Some friends suggested to me that I should find a school, register as a Fall 2006 student, get a new I-20 and return to F1 status to fill in this gap.

I'm not sure about the feasibility and influence of this resort. So please help me here:
1. Will the gap really be filled by this way?
2. Will this behavior have bad influence if I go back to China one day, and wanna get the H1 visa stamp there to re-enter U.S.?
3. Is there any other better idea if I wanna stay in U.S. during this gap?
4. Should I just go back to China and get the visa stamp here to re-enter?

Thanks for your help. I reallly appreciate it!
