Dear beloved Xiaobaitu or other experts:

My EB1a I-140 was approved and now it is time to file 485. However, my daughter (18 years old) now is with me in USA and will go to Canada for University education at the end of August (I and she are canadian citizen). As I know, for the person who is not in USA, she should file I-824 form, instead of I-485. But my daughter is living in USA and will go outside for education only. Therefore, my question is that which form she should file, I-485 or I-824?

In case she should file I-824, I read the instruction of the form. It is said that the person who can file I-824 only if the principal applicant's petition has been approved. Does this mean that only after my I-485 is approved, then my daughter can file I-824? Or my daughter can file I-824 currently based on the approval of my I-140.

I appreciate your help. Thank you very much!
